Two Albums But No Music

Hello and Welcome!

I had some fun this weekend getting back into mini albums.

I thought I might have lost my touch, so I picked a paper collection that I have had for a while and really couldn't find much to do with it.
No matter how much I liked the Paris Collection paper,
it just didn't go with anything I created.

I have to admit, I LOVE how it came out.
I have no idea what I am going to do with the album,
but I am so glad I made it.

I made it with a ribbon closure.
I also made some new pages that I had never tried before.
Lots of flaps and hidden pages, I really wanted to try things I never did previously and am really pleased with how it turned out.

More flaps and hidden pages inside.

I really love the paper collection in this book.

So since this album came out wonderfully...
I decided to make another album that I have been wanting to make.

This one is for Bella and Marley.
I noticed that I had albums for all the other fur-babies,
but hadn't made one for either of these two...
so I made this one for the both of them together.

Unfortunately though, I totally forgot about a closure...
so this is just an open album, for now.

I took some chipboard alphas I had and added stickles to them.
Love how those came out.

I also used a bunch of Pet Collection paper and stickers I had in my stash.
I always pick up stuff for the fur-babies,
knowing I will need them for various
creations I will make with them in mind!

I wanted to add a dangle, but as with the closure,
I totally forgot to compensate for that,
so I went with some lace and rosette fabrics I had for the binding.

Here is the inside.
I have not added pictures yet...but I will.

More flaps to these pages as well.

I had a bunch of fun making this album as well.

So even though I totally flaked out on the closure and a dangle on this album,
I love the way it came out and am happy with it.

I have to keep in my head the next time I make and album these things.
Hopefully because I forgot when making this one, I will remember next time!
I am also glad that I haven't lost my touch with making albums!!!
It was a lot of fun to use more items that I have been hoarding in my studio.

I hope you enjoyed these creations...

Envelope Board Bows

Hello and Welcome!

Unfortunately I am starting off this post with some sad news.
Our sweet, perfect fur baby Amber went on to heaven to be with her sisters.
She had cancer in her eye and after almost thirteen years of being with us,
She couldn't fight anymore and we didn't want her to.
She went peacefully and had us with her the whole time.
She is and will be so missed.

Here she is as a puppy, back in 2003 when we first got her.
She was a little one...but I knew by the paws, she was going to be a big baby.
Here's the big baby...she reached 100 pounds and a big mush-ball.
She was such a good fur-baby and will be terribly missed.
 Love you girl.

While home this weekend,
I had on my list of things to buy or replenish...envelopes for my cards.
But then I remembered I have a We R Memory Keepers envelope board.
Why not actually use it!
So I did make a bunch of envelopes, while perusing Pinterest.
As I was being inspired by so many wonderful artists...
I noticed that there are other things you can make with this envelope board.
What?
An envelope board used for more than envelopes?
Sweet!

One of the tutorials I found was for making bows.
It was kind of rough, so I had to play around a bit too get what was desired.
Here's what I came up with and wanted to share with you.

Here's the bow I am going to show you how to make.
Isn't it cute?

OK... Here's my envelope board.
Look familiar? LOL!

Next I took two one-inch strips of patterned paper.
Oh yeah... Don't use cardstock, way too heavy.

One strip at eight inches long, one at five inches long.
Also, I used rhinestones for the middle,
but you can decorate any way you'd like.

Take the longer strip and center it in the board and punch like so.

Turn the strip around and punch again so it looks like below.

Now place one end of the longer strip as below and punch.
Turn over and punch the other side as well.

It should look like this when done.
Now do the other end the same way.

Next, take the smaller strip and punch the center.
Turn over and punch again.

Note take the end and place in punch as pictured and punch.
Do to the other side too.

Now back to the larger strip... Place some adhesive on the ends.

Here's a close up of the adhesive placement.

Now bring over each end to the middle as pictured.

Here's what it looks like after adhered.

Now place some adhesive to the middle of the smaller strip.

Place the top bow to this strip and here's what you end up with.

Next... I placed a rhinestone to the middle and you can poof-out the bow a bit.

Here you can see how big the bow is when done with the measurements
I used... But you can change the measurements to whatever you need.

Here's a larger one I made as well.
I hope you have fun trying this out.
I think I may try even smaller ones for cards and planners.
I am just real excited for what I learned my envelope board can do...
Besides envelopes.

Let me know if you try this or if you know of other things
you can do with the envelope board.

I hope you enjoyed these creations...
and as always with all of the pictures on my blog...
you can always click on the pictures for bigger, detailed pictures.

I'd LOVE to hear from you!!!

Have A Ball

Hello and Welcome!!!

I stated in earlier posts that I was actually crafting a lot in November and December, but couldn't share since they were presents.

Well, the holidays are over now and I did take pictures of what I made...
So I figured I would share with you to give you some ideas for
either Christmas or Birthday presents throughout the year.

Here are the materials I used to make these Foot Soak ornaments.
I got the idea from YouTube...NurseTara04  (thank you!)

The glass ornaments I purchased at Michael's last year on clearance.
I knew I wanted to do something with them,
and at like 75% off...why not pick some up?
The Peppermint Epsom Salt I picked up at Walgreens.
The sequin trim (I wound up not using, but purchased at Target $1 spot).
The bling stickers I picked up at Staples a while back.
They were on clearance for .50 cents!
So see...not at all expensive!

I poured the foot soak into the ornament,
added a ribbon on the top...some bling to the sides and there you go!
The ornaments I picked up at Dollar General.

The swirl bling I had in my stash already.
So, not much in cost for a little item that
I gave to a couple of people for the holidays.

Next, I made some post-it note purses.
These post-it notes I picked up at Dollar General (2 pads for $1.00)

The paper, ribbon and pearls were in my stash.
I just made a template for this and started making a bunch.

Here is the purse opened up.
I added a piece of velcro on the inside to close the purse.

I think they came out adorable.

So for almost no cost at all except for a few items,
and for us crafters...stuff we have on hand,
I was able to make a few gifts.

I hope you enjoyed these,
let me know below in the comments.

Take care and thank you so much for visiting!

New Year, New Ideas

Welcome and Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and
I wish you all nothing but peace, love, health and happiness in the new year.
I have thought of some resolutions for the new year,
But as usual, I know that I won't stick to them.
Then I feel like total crap because I have failed once again.
I think my plan will just be to try and be
healthier and happier than the last year.

I do want to try and be a bit more organized.
I wanted to start a planner.
I do use my computer a lot but even though I try and be techie...
I do like to use good old paper and pen.
Not to mention that I wanted to join the planner bandwagon,
And I was able to use a coupon on the planner so that made it even better.

Here is the planner I decided on... It's a Happy planner.

The cover even says... Stay Happy.
I love it.
Inside it has many inspirational quotes to make you smile.

So as I've said, I joined the planner bandwagon...
And wanted to start fixing it up.

This was my first layout and I totally didn't know what I was doing.
It is kind of bare.

Now the next week I think I went a bit too much with the decorating.
Total learning experience each week.

This week I had fun doing pink for the Christmas season.

This is Christmas week and I loved using the Christmas colors.

Here I did not go crazy with the decorating.
But I now have my sticker and washi collection growing.
I also purchased a stamp set for my planner.
I can't wait to play with them as well.
I am figuring out how I would like each week set up and
This planner is staying in my studio.
I think I am going to use it for scheduling blogs and crafting ideas.
Of course I am going to have special days like birthdays and such
So I know what cards I need to make.
I also purchased a smaller planner for my purse
so I can keep track of work related stuff too.

Above are some paper clips I made for my planner.
The felt and acrylic flowers I had in my stash from Michaels.
I just hot glued them on.

Here's a blue one.

I also did some clear ones.

For a bit more organizing... I got a couple of these plastic cases.
I thought they would be perfect for my sequins.
This collection has been growing too for shaker cards.

These cases do the job well.

Here's one of the boxes close up.

So my organizing for the new year is going well so far.
I have to admit, I am not that disorganized... So it has been easy.

Let me know any of your organizing tips.
Thanks so much for visiting and take care!
