Saying goodbye to 2014

I wanted to blog one more time for 2014
and share the rest of the crafts I have been working on.

I have to say that this year was filled with many creations,
some good, some not so good.
But I have to admit, I had a lot of fun trying it all.

Although my site is filled with mostly crafts and nail art,
there is a great deal of other things that I do but do not share.
It's not that I don't want to share, but if you know me, I am quite an introvert.
I also am not sure that anyone is even interested in anything else about me,
so I stay on the safe side and stay quiet.

That being said, if there is anything that you would like me to share,
I am a rather open book,
so I don't mind sharing anything that you want to know.

I guess since the year is ending and a new year is beginning,
I am of the mindset of how I can either change or fix how my site is received.
Here's a little tidbit of information about me...
I am always second-guessing myself and am never sure what I am doing is the best way...see, I am sharing already!

Anyway, I would truly love any suggestions or comments you may have about my site, whether it is good or bad.
I don't mind constructive criticism...I'll just cry a bit and move on.
Just kidding.

Ok...now on to the crafts, which is probably why you have visited!
I found a craft on making Angels with wire-edged ribbons.
They were rather easy and may have to do a bunch for next year
since I started way too late this year to do anything with them for the Holidays.

Here are two I did.
If you'd like me to write up a tutorial on how I made them, let me know.

So I asked my husband what craft he thinks I should try.
He actually said that he would love to see me doing polymer clay again.
That was such a surprise since I haven't done any in at least 2-3 years.

Here are some I did a while back...

An Angel

A Bear with a wagon of hearts

 A Bee

A Doodlebug

Ice Friends

A Penguin on an ice cube Ornament

So, I tried my hand at playing around again with my clay.
I still had all of my supplies, you know us crafters, we keep everything!
And thank goodness because you never know when you will need something.

I made this cute little mouse with a heart.
As you can see, if I decide to keep doing these, I will have to cut my nails down.
Decisions, decisions!!!

Then I made this cute rolly-polly bunny.

 Then this wacky bird?

And lastly, I made this Angel.
I have Valentine's in mind...so I guess that's what's up with all the hearts!

 Here they all are again.

Not sure how much or how long I will keep up with the clay.
I was thinking of making some embellishments
that I can use with my paper crafts as well.

What do you think?
Should I keep practicing, or just let it go?

I hope that each and every one of you have a wonderful holiday season
and wish you all a Happy New Year.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and any other day.
I'd love to hear any feedback you may have,
or any suggestions you would like for the New Year.

Take care!

How about an Ornament

Hello and Happy Holidays 2014!

This year I was totally addicted to making quilted ornaments.
So addicted that I didn't even make and send out Christmas Cards!

They are so easy to make and once you get the hang of it...
I picked up fabrics, pins and styrofoam balls each time I passed a craft store.

You can find a couple of videos on how to do them on YouTube.
I watched as many as I could because each person has there own flair.

I wanted to share with you what took me away from cards this year,
so I hope you sit back and enjoy all the different ones I did.
I also put these up on my Etsy shop and am able to make any color/fabric combination you may want...just let me know.

This one reminds me of Traditional Christmas.
Red, Green and plaid fabrics along with red ribbon with green and white dots.

This one is a bit more fun with white, red and striped fabrics.
The ribbon is red and white with Merry Christmas printed on the white small ribbon.

Red, White and green polka dotted fabrics with white ribbons.

Green and Red striped fabrics with green ribbons.

White lace and blue fabric with white and blue ribbons.

Now we are getting into some sporty ones.
This one has blue, white and baseball printed fabric.
The ribbon has the Atlanta Braves printed on it.

This one has Tampa Bay Buccaneers fabric and ribbons.

Here are some fun colored ones.
This one has purple, white and various-colored striped fabric,
along with white and purple ribbons.

Pink and white polka dotted fabric with some baby fabrics as well.
Pink and Yellow ribbons to match.

White, pink and pink polka dotted fabrics with pink and white ribbons.

Black and black polka dotted hot pink fabrics with black and pink ribbons.

And last, but not least...
Hot pink, black and pink/black animal print fabric with pink and black ribbons.

So my studio now has a bunch of these ornaments hanging up
as well as me gifting some of these to friends and family this year.
It was a lot of fun to do, but I had to put my fabrics away before I had so many ornaments I wouldn't know what to do with them all.
Honestly, they are so easy to make, I hope you try them!!!
If you do, please let me know below so I can share with you.

Thanks so much for stopping by and take care!

Building a Snowman

Hello!  This is probably my last Christmas Nail Art for the Year of 2014.
I decided on a Snowman and it was easy to do.
Again, I was able to take pictures for step by step instructions for you to try.

First paint your nail white, with two coats.

Next I took black acrylic paint and drew an arch at the nail base for his hat.
You can use black nail polish as well.

With a dotting tool or toothpick and black paint or polish,
make two eyes and dots for his mouth.

Now with orange paint or polish and a toothpick, make his nose.

To finish it off, I put a red line as a band on his hat and two white dots in his eyes.

I decided to do a white tip on the rest of my nails
and then topped them with Sally Hansen Pixel Perfect.
It is a clear polish with white and black hexagon glitter and black bar glitter.
It reminded me of pieces of a snowman for some strange reason.
Then top coat and done!

See, another easy one that you can do as well.
I hope you try it this season and if you do, post a picture, I'd love to see!

Take care!

Waddling in a Winter Wonderland

For this post, I have a Penguin Nail Art design to share with you.
I actually took pictures of each step for you as well to show you how easy it is.
As always with every picture on my site, you can click to make it larger.

Here is the end result...isn't he cute?
And so simple to do...let's get right to it.

Ok, first I painted all my nails but the ring finger, a light blue.
I used Zoya Yummy.
Then I painted the ring finger black.
I used my favorite black polish, Orly Liquid Vinyl.

I then took white acrylic paint, or you can use white nail polish...
and made two dots for his eyes and an arch of white for his body.
This is one coat.

I then went over it again when it dried for the second coat.

I then added two black dots into the white dots for his eyes.

Next, with orange paint or polish and a toothpick,
make a triangle for his beak and two little feet at the bottom.

See...wasn't that easy...I told you!!!
And he's adorable!!!

Now I took my dotting tool, but you can use whatever makes you comfortable,
and made the tips of my nails white looking like snow.
I went across the nail first with dots, then filled the rest in.

Next I made various sized dots for snow on each nail.
After everything was totally dry...I applied top coat and voila...done!

See...told you it was easy!!!
I hope you try it this season and if you do, post a picture, I'd love to see!

Love to hear how you like my Penguin Nail art.
Take care!!!

Another Nail From My Heart

I haven't posted any of my nail art in a while,
so I figured I would show you that I still have been doing it...just not posting it.

This one was for Breast Cancer Awareness...in honor of my Sweet Sis.
Various pinks and a ribbon with a rhinestone on my pinky.

Here is what I did for Halloween this year.
Orange and Purple textured nail polish in a
slanted tip manicure with black rhinestones.

 Here's a funky pink manicure I did.
Tried another crack at the ombre effect on my pointers and pinkies.
The middle and ring fingers got a doticure.

 Another funky manicure...with pinks.
Black heart on the pointer.
Pink glitter on the middle fingers
Dots, dots and more dots on the ring fingers,
and just black on the pinkies.

This one was a manicure to show off some rose water decals I got
and wanted to try out.

Last but not least...my first Holiday manicure for 2014.
On my left hand, Rudolph is making his debut with a big, red glittered nose.
The rest of the fingers are a deep red.

On the right hand...Santa's coat.

I hope you enjoyed the manicures I have shared...I hope to share more soon.

I'd love to know which you like the best...
or which you may like to see that I haven't done yet.
Comment below.

Take care!
