They say it's your Birthday!

Hello and Welcome!

So my birthday was a couple of weeks ago...
we won't mention how old! LOL!!!

But for my birthday,
my hubster was so sweet and got me a bunch of crafty items!
He knows me so well!!!

Here are some of the items I got...

All of the six-packs of Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers!!!

Some of the stamps I got...

Even an Adult Coloring book!!!

So, when I received all of the markers,
I knew I needed somewhere to put them in arms reach so I would use them.

After a bit of thinking...
I remembered all of these grape drink canisters that I have been keeping,
knowing I would use them for something...someday.
Well, here's the day!!!

I removed all of the labels, which was easy,
just cut and off they came!

I then decided to put them five across,
and started up the hot-glue gun!

Then added another row, and another...and so on.

Until I had thirty canisters put together.

I then took foam board to enclose the canisters.

Hubster actually came up with the shelf on top for papers or whatever I wanted.

I decorated it and placed all of my markers inside.
I added my limited amount of copics, prismacolors and sharpies.

So now it is on my back desk right next to my pencil storage
I made a while back with toilet/paper towel rolls.
Here's the link to that blog post. - Pencil Storage

Now I have a home for all of my coloring...well, most of my coloring.

I do love making the storage myself since I can never find exactly what I want.
Or if I do, it is was too expensive, or it's not portable.

I would love for you to let me know what storage you have made.

Cards to Die For

Hello and Welcome!

This week I decided to raid my die-cuts and make some cards.

This balloon birthday card was a bit tricky as to how to put the twine
on the card as the balloon strings,
so I figured I would take some pictures to give you a bit of an idea
to help you out in case you would like to try.

So first I die cut a rainbow of balloons in three different sizes.

Then I cut the white cardstock for the front of the card
along with the black card base.

I place a piece of scor-tape where I want the twine to be adhered to.

But on the big balloon dies, I used my atg gun on the top,
so that I could play a bit with the placement of the dies
to make sure they line up well.

I then took the paper off the scor-tape to start putting the twine on the card.

I made sure I already had all six pieces of twine ready to go.

I then placed each piece of twine behind each balloon,
then pressed the balloon down on the twine.

I then took the twine and brought them together on the other side.

I then turned over the card and placed a piece of tape
to adhere all of the twine down.

I then cut the twine down a bit.

Now I place the next row of balloon dies.

All the way across.

Same with the third row of balloon dies.

I stamped 'happy' and 'birthday' on the card.

I then took my white gel pen and made highlights on each balloon.

I placed foam tape on the back.

Then adhered it to the black card base.

Here's the stamps I placed inside...continuing with the balloon theme.

Next I die cut a bunch of hearts.

I took a white card...

And cut an inch and a half off the top flap.

Then arranged and adhered the hearts along the cut.

Then stamped I love you with a heart.

I even used one of the hearts on the inside of the card
along with some stamping as well.

These were a lot of fun and simple to make.
I hope you try them out as well!

You've Got Mail

Hello, Welcome and Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I have a Target Dollar Spot Mail Box that I purchased last year
and dolled up this year with an album and all for my husband this year
for Valentine's Day!

So I took Valentine paper that I had in my stash,
along with some washi tape and a burlap bow...
and dressed up the mailbox.

I actually took the flag off to put the paper around the mailbox.

When I added the flag back, I had this rhinestone brad in my stash.
I think it looks rather good, and it lets the flag work as well!

I then made an album with just some of the reasons why I love my husband.

Again, I used cardboard, paper and ribbon that I had in my stash.

Here's the inside of the album without my reasons inside yet.
I have to keep some things private!!! LOL!!!

He really loved it and I enjoyed making it.

Shake it up

Hello and Welcome!!!

So after I organized all of my sequins...
I figured I would use them! LOL!!!

I had some birthdays coming up and who doesn't love shaker cards?
It's funny how things come back around and it's all the craze.
I remember making these shaker cards way back in the day and now they are back again with a vengeance!

I've always loved making them,
but I do have to admit,
now there are more items to help make them
without being such a pain as they were back in the day.

I have a fuse tool and I also have the We R Memory keepers photo sleeves
that have various size pockets.
These items make it easier to make shaker cards now.

Here are three of the same card but with different colors.

I used sequins on the outside of them as well as the inside.
I also used a new stamp set I purchased at Christmas time...
Circle Sayings by Simon Says Stamp.
Perfect to go with my circle dies.

So here it is with blue being dominant.

Here it is with pink being dominant.

And here it is with yellow being dominant.
