April Autism Awareness Manicure

As I have stated before on my blog,
I will be mixing it up between crafts and manicures...so here is a manicure for you!

I have a close, dear friend that has a child with autism and I wanted to show my allegiance by doing a manicure for her.  Where she lives they were having an Awareness drive for Extensions and Manicures, with proceeds going to the cause.  Unfortunately, we live approximately 1000 miles away from each other or I would have gotten both the extension and the manicure.  So I figured I would do one myself this weekend.
Not sure if this is the right blue or not...but it's from the heart and that's all that matters.

It's a blue french manicure using Why Not by Sinful Colors.
I also put white lines on the line with White Nail Art by Sinful Colors.
Final touch...I added some holographic blue hearts on my ring finger.

You really can't tell the hearts are holographic...but I promise they are.

So, there is my April Autism Awareness manicure.
I may do more since blue is my favorite color!!!
Take care!!!

Put The Needle On The Record...

Hi All!
I finally finished one of the crafts that I have been doing on and off for a couple of weekends.
I think it came out pretty good, but I will let you be the judge.
I am going to warn you...lots of pictures...very graphic!!!

So here's the box I made out of medium weight carboard.
Those are wooden candle cups that I painted with Luminere Paint.
the drawer pull I purchased at Michaels in the $1.00 bin.
The paper I purchased from Big Lots a while back.

This is the top of the box...pearl trim, blue roses, wooden butterflies and Tim Holtz Grunge accents.

A shot from the side...another grunge accent, which I colored with Broken China Distress Stain.

Here is the drawer opened to reveal items inside that I punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

This is what is inside the drawer!
They are records in record covers!
The records have photo corners so you can put the next year in there as well.
I stamped, colored and glittered the months.

Another shot of the records and covers.

Here is the top of the box opened with a wooden dowel to keep it open.
In the middle are wood pieces that I wrapped in ribbon and paper
and a brad glued upside down for the needle.
Here is the record on the needle...or as I like to say from an old 80's song...
Put The Needle On The Record! LOL!!  I know, I am a goof!

Here shows the month out of the photo corners on the record.

I am so glad that I finally finished this one, but it also makes me wonder what I will do next!
I will be sure to share with you!
Take care!!!
