Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes.
Art is knowing which ones to keep. ~ Scott Adams
So as I have said before, this blog of mine is for everything that I find creative to me. Whether it be musically, by crafting or by nail art. These are various things that I am interested in, so that's why they will all be included here. I hope that doesn't confuse visitors to my blog, but I do hope that you understand that all creativity is art, so it belongs together...for me.
In saying this...I have been blogging lately of my nail art escapades...but this blog will be a start of the Plaster Christmas houses that I do each year. Or at least try to do each year.
As I have stated in a past blog, I have been on a 'Crafting Creative Block', but I have been having fun creating with my nails.
But I did decide to get out the Plaster Christmas Houses and at least start painting to get the 'crafty juices' flowing. LOL!!!
The way I paint my houses is in steps...First step for me though is to get it ready to paint.

See how the windows and doors are rough?
I take my exacto knife and fix these by scraping all of the sides...
then take a brush and get all of the dust brushed away so I can start painting.
See...much better!
Now onto the painting...
I start with painting the biggest pieces.
Now on to the next color...
Now I start to get into more of the details
Well...I hope you don't mind the break from my nails to some of my crafts.
To be continued...
Take care!

Hi! Either I purchase at any of the craft stores in town like Michaels, Joann's, Hobby Lobby or a great place online is www.ceramicartspace.com. I have been purchasing these for years so not sure which are still available and where. The houses are, depending on which one...approximately 5-6 inches tall. Hope this helps and if there is anything else you need, just let me know.
ReplyDeleteI have painted 12 plus pieces of this and absolutely LOVING the results! I really want this one because my boyfriend buys and sells produce. I've been to every local Michaels and no such luck. My Jo Anns doesn't carry ceramics, nor does Hobby Lobby. Thank you for the tip on the website!
ReplyDeleteAnytime. I know, the craft stores don't carry much plaster/ceramic houses anymore. Good luck!
